Generally, 0.2ml provides the best results for a 30mm x 30mm processor. If you're unsure about the volume applied, use the buttered toast method to remove any excess amount.

The frequency of replacing thermal paste depends on PC usage and thermal paste quality. Generally, it's a good idea to replace it every one to two years. Monitor CPU and GPU temperature and paste appearance to determine when a change is needed.
