Frequently Asked Questions

  • For desktop users, please refer to our comprehensive guide for CPU and GPU applications.

For laptop users, visit our Tutorial page to find instructions tailored to different models.

  • The actual usage depends on the physical size of your processor (in mm). Use our calculator to estimate the optimal quantity for your processor.

Generally, 0.2ml provides the best results for a 30mm x 30mm processor. If you're unsure about the volume applied, use the buttered toast method to remove any excess amount.

  • The frequency of replacing thermal paste depends on PC usage and thermal paste quality. Generally, it's a good idea to replace it every one to two years. Monitor CPU and GPU temperature and paste appearance to determine when a change is needed.

Acceptable CPU temperature ranges from 65 to 80 degrees Celsius, while GPU temperatures under load typically fall between 65° and 85° Celsius.

  • According to our sutdy, there is no single best method. The key is to evenly spread the optimal amount of thermal paste on your processor, regardless of the pattern used.

If unsure about the optimal amount, employ the buttered toast method to remove excess paste and ensure an even layer on the processor.

  • KOLD-01 thermal paste is not electrically conductive, so there's no need to worry if you accidentally spill some on your motherboard or other electronic devices.
